Properties:
Hard and heavy wood but saws and planes well. Glues well and is good for
wood turnings.

Equatorial Africa, Southeast Nigeria through Cameroon to the Congo.
General
Characteristics:
Heartwood can vary from pink, vivid red, red brown and purple streaks
or veins running trough it. Grain can vary from straight to interlocked
and sometimes highly figured but mainly in veneer.
Uses:
Fine furniture and cabinet work, decorative veneers, turnery, and inlay
work.
