Jerry has recently enrolled in a class to build a guitar at Midwest Guitar. He is being taught by Master Luthier, Micheal Boggeman. We will be updating his status and pictures as the guitar comes along.
12/12/2011---Well I'm five weeks into this and probably right about where most of you would be at morning coffee break the first day. I go to class on Saturday for about four hours and work on it at home some evenings. I've found similarities to other types of woodworking in the need for specialized tools and jigs, not a bad thing, just time consuming. ---- Jerry
2/13/2012--- Back in the saddle, holidays are over, time to get something done. I've been working on bracing the guitar and I hope to put the box together soon. ---JH
5/8/2012--- I have the back glued to the sides and the top braces glued on, I will carve the soundboard braces in the evenings this week. Next Saturday I will glue the soundboard to the sides to complete the box. I hope to have the bindings on by the 19th so I can show it at the Gateway Area Luthiers Assembly & Show. Actually I'm going to show it regardless of progress. I'm posting a picture of Lucy, because she will let me blame all of my lack of progress on her, what a good puppy.
